This tasty Pale Ale from Nantucket's Cisco Brewers has likely been flying under your radar since it's from a small production brewery with distribution in only a few states.
But it's one of the most balanced beers we've tried in a while and it's definitely worth your attention! The story of Cisco Brewers starts back in 1981, and in addition to the brewery, they run a distillery and winery as well. It was started by two couples and, in the beginning, they ran the brewery out of their back yard, earning it the distinction of being “America's Only Outdoor Brewery.”
They've come a long way since then, but they're still a small company that can barely keep up with demand - so they've given themselves the catchy, Gershwin-inspired motto, “nice beer, if you can get it.” Well, you can get it here! The beer is terrifically balanced, with floral hops, hints of peach and apricot fruit, and buttery caramel malt on the finish. Very drinkable, and super balanced, the Whale's Tale is a new favorite! $1.79/12 oz
